2017 NORTH STAR GRAND PRIX ST. PAUL RACE SURE TO BE ‘GRAND’
Minneapolis (March 23, 2016) --- Hundreds of the best cyclists in the world will be rolling into Minnesota for the 18th annual North Star Grand Prix presented by North Memorial Health Care to be held June 14 – 18, 2017.
This year, the first stage of the North Star Grand Prix will have a new route along St. Paul’s Grand Avenue. The start and finish lines will be located near Avon Street. Racers will travel west on Grand Avenue to Victoria, then south to Lincoln, then east to St. Albans and back onto Grand for a total distance of 0.9 miles per lap. The Women’s Pro/Elite Race will make 24 laps and the Men will make 32 laps. The women's race will begin at 6:15 p.m., the Park Dental Tour de Kids will begin at 7:15 p.m., and the men's race will begin at 7:45 p.m.

In addition to hosting the first stage of the Grand Prix, a variety of activities will take place at the St. Paul event - and the other stages during the Grand Prix - including the Park Dental
Tour de Kids presented by Shimano Youth Series (free to participate for children 12 and under); an expo showcasing bike, health and wellness vendors and service providers; and plenty of food and beverage options available. The races and events are free and open to the public.
